In January 2026, Halstow Primary School received an Ofsted Inspection.
Inspectors recognised that the commitment and expertise of staff make a significant difference to pupils’ achievement and sense of belonging. They celebrated the warm, respectful relationships between pupils and staff, and the positive learning culture that this has created, ensuring that ‘not a moment of learning is lost’.
Personal development and wellbeing was seen as central to school life with pupils feeling happy, included and supported, and developing a strong understanding of values, diversity and how to keep themselves and others safe.
Inspectors praised the school’s extremely strong culture of inclusion highlighting the high expectations that exist for all pupils when identifying and addressing barriers to learning.
Inspectors were impressed that pupils were able to demonstrate impressive recall and enthusiasm for their learning, noting that high expectations and high-quality teaching leads to strong outcomes and high standards.
Pupils thrive at this safe and happy school. It is ambitious and caring.
Leaders remain focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for pupils.
There is a strong sense of community, with a clear commitment to equality and inclusion.
